The upper floor of the Hankeri Giray Han Mansion, which has a 600-year history, which the Zile Chamber of Commerce is currently restoring, will be used as the offices of the Chamber of Commerce after the restoration; the lower floor was requested to be designed as the Zile Urban Memory Museum.

It is planned to use today’s technology and materials in the interior design of the mansion, which reflects the traditional Turkish House very well with its plan type and construction system. In one of the oldest historical buildings of the city, the assets that have been engraved in the memory of the city for generations are presented to the visitors with the VR and AR systems allowed by today’s technology, with the aim of enabling the visitors to compare the past and the present.

In the museum, which was designed on the ground floor of the mansion, first the foyer and entrance area were defined, the city and important structures were introduced in the 1st room so that the visitors could determine their own travel routes, in the 2nd room the tangible and intangible cultural assets of the city were introduced, and finally in the 3rd room, the city was lost. and the disappearing profession and places were introduced, and the visitor was asked to inform the visitor about the center and its surroundings before starting to tour the city.

At the entrance of the museum, there is an entrance emphasized by the words “Veni, vidi, vici (I came, I saw, I conquered)” uttered by Julius Caesar after the Battle of Zela, which took place in Zile 21 centuries ago, between the Roman Empire and the Pontus Kingdom. In this area, where the war is depicted, there is a transparent area where the swords used by both sides of the period are depicted.

Also in the field; A foyer, waiting area and information desk where information brochures and tablets that can be used in AR experience can be distributed and collected in a controlled manner have been defined.

In order to be used in all exhibition areas of the museum, LED spotlights that can be positioned differently on the rail, rotating and can increase the light area at different angles are included.

In the conceptual approach of the entrance area, the concepts of semi-permeability and permeability were emphasized, and the main priority was to direct the spaces and define the transition areas. It is thought that the metal box profile pillars used intermittently in the area and the exhibition areas behind them arouse curiosity and give a guiding effect to these areas.

A special area has been designed for this cultural heritage, which is still being transmitted from generation to generation due to agricultural activities that have an important place in the city’s memory. The design started with a dramatic scene setup shot in the past. It was planned to bring together the agricultural tools used in the past and turn the past into a frozen movie scene with a camera from that period, and the view of this moment is planned for the visitor who is behind the camera and the glass.

In this area, which is the 1st room that visitors will visit after the entrance area; it welcomes a room where the deaf walls are completely mirrors, the window areas are designed with sun-proof curtains, and an illuminated model is located in the center.

A setup has been designed, which is produced as 3D printer printing and illuminated with the Zile model, which illuminates the important areas that need to be visited, in which the interesting 360° degree visual data can be transferred, the first impression of the city can be created, and each visitor can use it to create their own travel route.

In the model, which is planned to be produced with a 3D printer, the lighting of 10 important buildings was done through VR glasses.

It is planned to experience each building with 360 degree views and to create excursion routes to interesting places.

It is requested that there are 360° panoramic images (5 images for each building) that visitors can experience without going to the designated places (10).

  1. 3D virtual mock-up in the opening image of VR,
  2. Selecting the desired place through the text or image belonging to the places to be promoted on the virtual model
  3. c. After experiencing the surroundings of the selected building 360°, it is planned to navigate to the interior of the same building and visit this area 360° if desired.

In the 2nd Room of the Museum; It is aimed to convey the tangible and intangible assets that have brought Zile into existence from the past to the present, visually and emotionally.

In the design, the main titles were determined primarily and it was suggested to create video and concert contents for the determined titles. Next to the screen where the presentation will be transferred, the written pre-text on the subject is included.

An exhibition area has been designed for small objects that can be exhibited, supported by video presentations.

Each determined topic was supported by the written pre-text – video contents (can be listened to with headphones) – exhibition areas. The space design is also shaped around these headings, and separation, orientation and transition are designed with linear floor-wall lighting and positioning of the exhibition areas.

Visitors inthe 3rd Room of the Museum; All three walls are covered by an exhibition space filled with photographs or surrounded by hollow frames. The room is designed to inform visitors about Zile’s lost or disappearing professions and places. It is proposed to support this idea with the AR system.

With the use of the AR system in photo frames, it was thought to revive the ‘disappearing’ professions, and with the use of empty frames, to revive the ‘disappearing’ professions. With this method, it is planned to raise awareness to the visitors.

QR Code to be used on phones and tablets to make AR Experience easy for every visitor system has been suggested.

Priority professions that are thought to be revived with AR; Blacksmithing, Tinsmithing, Horseshoe Manufacturer, Kome or Molasses Production and the number of occupations can be increased or decreased according to the budget management.

The last place of the room is the cinevision area. In this area, which was specially designed at the request of the employer, it is planned to bring together all the documentary or promotional visual data of Zile that have been made and published so far and transfer them to the visitor in a single area.
