With the request of the employer to donate a library of 750 books in order to keep the name of Dursun Önkuzu in the Zile district of Tokat, the area of Dinçerler Anatolian High School in the district, which is currently used as a warehouse, is requested to be designed.
Space setup; It has been programmed to serve individual and joint work areas, an area to benefit from digital resources, the registration and return section of books, and the periodicals section.
The division of the space with beams provides an important input to the shaping of the design. The continuity of the existing horizontal beams formally provided in the vertical, in these defined areas; It was designed together with the encyclopedia and basic information books, which constitute the foundations of knowledge.
It is suggested that the dimension under the beam provides the horizontal continuity of the space and the spaces above the beam are used as storage areas. The covers of these areas are designed as grid covers. The main reason why a closed solid cover design is not used anywhere in the space is to emphasize the transparency of information.
The floor covering recommended to be used in the design is a light colored marble or preferably ceramic material. The design was started with the luminous effect of the light color on the floor.
The library materials have been differentiated. In order to emphasize the bookcases containing encyclopedic books based on beam traces with a natural effect, solid wood oak or oak covering material on mdf is recommended.
In the libraries to be used for other sciences, the use of gray matte lacquer paint on MDF is preferred.
It is aimed to provide sufficient light level for the working areas with the linear pendant lighting used in the Common Working Areas.
By emphasizing the light and shadow with the interior lighting, the fiction of the books to illuminate the people is depicted.
Adjustable direct light source is used in Individual Study areas and it is desired to increase the light efficiency on the table.
Minimal form Eames chairs with metal legs are preferred in Workspaces due to their lightness and usefulness.
